Chicago, Ill. (Jan. 10, 2019) – Sky Blue FC have acquired defender Caprice Dydasco, goalkeeper DiDi Haracic and Estelle Johnson in a trade with the Washington Spirit in exchange for the third-overall and the 29th pick in today’s 2019 NWSL College Draft.
“These are players I am very familiar with from my time in Washington and I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with them again,” Head Coach Denise Reddy.
Dydasco, 25, was drafted by 19th overall in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. Since then she has made 58 appearances.
Prior to being drafted, Dydasco spent four years as a Bruin at the University of California, Los Angeles where she was a member of the championship team in 2013, totaling 94 appearances.
Haracic, 26, has been with the Spirit as part of the reserves since 2012, receiving a call-up to the full team in 2016. Since then she had appeared in seven matches and earned herself the Save of the Week award during week 22 of 2017.
In 2014, Haracic was an amateur call-up for the former Western New York Flash before being offered a full contract in late July, making one appearance.
Haracic is a graduate of Loyola University and during her four years as a Greyhound she received the award for 2012 MAAC Player of the Year.
In addition, she has appeared in two matches for her home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Johnson, 30, an eight year professional veteran, joins Sky Blue after spending the last four seasons with the Spirit.
Prior to that she spent a year with the Flash in 2013. She has also been a part of the New York Fury and Philadelphia Independence of the former WPS and Sydney FC of Australia’s W-League.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, Johnson tied the school record for most games played with 82.
