NWSL Letter to Fans

Dear NWSL fans,

As you all know, the National Women’s Soccer League suspended the 2020 pre-season in the wake of COVID-19. This decision was made to protect the safety of our players, staff, fans and everyone connected to our sport.

We are in active consultation with governmental health agencies, our NWSL medical task force and other sports leagues on the appropriate next steps and contingency plans for the resumption of our 2020 preseason and potential impact on our 2020 regular season.  The most up-to-date information will be made available as soon as possible.

We understand you may have concerns and questions regarding our upcoming season. We are working through all the scenarios but want to reassure you that tickets that have been purchased for any game that may be postponed will be honored when the game is rescheduled, as long as the match is open to the public.

Please keep visiting nwslsoccer.com for the latest news and information, along with messages from our teams and players.

We will continue to act with the health and safety of our players, staff and supporters in the forefront of our minds and are taking all necessary precautions. We ask that you come together and do the same. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time and for being the best fans in the world.

Sincerely,

Lisa Baird

NWSL Commissioner
