Sky Blue FC names first TeamSnap MVC of 2020

Sky Blue FC has named its first TeamSnap MVC (Most Valuable Coach) of 2020. Congratulations to Becki Tweed, who coaches the U11, U16, and U19 teams for STA in Morristown, NJ. Tweed was nominated by Sky Blue FC General Manager Alyse LaHue for her creativity, perseverance, and dedication to the players during this challenging time dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sky Blue’s TeamSnap MVC honors coaches in our communities that exemplify undeniable commitment to player growth and education. During this difficult time, we are hoping to shine a light on coaches that are going above and beyond for their team whilst navigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tweed has kept in touch with her players by organizing weekly video chat meetings and keeping the players’ minds and bodies exercised with leadership activities, conversations about sports psychology, and at-home workouts. Activities such as “Best 11” as a General Manager with a salary cap, one-on-one challenges with teammates including virtually playing against other teams to keep their competitive edge and motivation sharp during this time. The effort to make an impact doesn’t end at the soccer field. Tweed assigned players to help out in their households and in the community, with homework assignments through Google Classroom, including tasks like cooking dinner for your family and writing letters to essential workers to encourage everyone to keep on fighting.

Coach Becki Tweed has set an excellent example for her players to not only have success on the field but to also be great people off the field.
