Sky Blue FC is announcing the latest honoree, Kayla Tibaldo, as part of the team’s #SBFCheroes campaign. Tibaldo, who was nominated by Brianna Garvey, has been selflessly working long hours at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, helping many patients in critical condition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tibaldo typically works as an Occupational Therapist on the hospital’s rehabilitation team. However, when the virus began to spread in New York City, she decided to volunteer to work in the Emergency Department and ICU to help those suffering the most. She works up to 12 hours at a time, staying in constant contact with the virus that millions are trying so hard to stay away from. As part of a prone team, Tibaldo helps with the positioning of patients on ventilators in order to improve oxygenation and allow for chest x-rays to be taken.
“It is both a pleasure and honor to recognize Kayla for her efforts and selfless acts during this pandemic,” said Sky Blue FC Account Manager, Taylor Machuga. “Her willingness to shift from the Rehabilitation Team to the ICU and Emergency Department to directly impact those suffering from COVID-19 is truly admirable and inspirational.”
Sky Blue is deeply grateful for essential workers like Kayla Tibaldo who have given so much to help us all through this pandemic. To nominate #SBFCheroes working on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic, follow this link.
