Sky Blue FC Announces NWSL Challenge Cup Quarterfinal Match Details

Sky Blue FC has announced it will be facing the Washington Spirit in its 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup quarterfinal matchup this Saturday, July 18. The match will be presented by Hackensack Meridian Health and is scheduled for kickoff at 12:30 p.m. ET in Herriman, Utah, at Zions Bank Stadium. Fans in the United States and Canada can watch the match live on CBS All Access while international fans can stream it on Twitch.

The roster was initially announced before the tournament and is available here. Since its release, midfielders Madison Tiernan and Kenie Wright have been ruled out of the tournament. Tiernan was placed on the 45-day disabled list with a right ankle injury before the team’s departure to Utah and did not make the trip. Wright suffered a torn ACL on July 5 during a training session and has begun her rehab while awaiting the return trip to have surgery.

A win in the quarterfinal match would move Sky Blue through the semifinals where it would meet the winner of OL Reign and the Chicago Red Stars on Wednesday, July 22. The semifinal match would kick off at 10:00 p.m. ET at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup Final presented by Budweiser will be held at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday, July 26, at 12:30 p.m. ET. CBS will broadcast the Final.
